1. "Doing Business in Indonesia 2010" 2. "Paying Taxes 2010 - The Global Picture" 3. Remittance data is now available in Arabic, Portuguese, Chinese, and Russian 4. Two new updates were added to the PPI website 5. Enterprise Surveys expanded its coverage 1. DOING BUSINESS IN INDONESIA 2010 For the first time, Doing Business goes beyond Jakarta to compare 14 cities within Indonesia and identify opportunities for collaboration between national and local governments to cut red tape and reduce the cost of doing business. The report suggests that cities in Indonesia can learn from each other and adopt good practices that are already working within the country. Read more...[3] 2. PAYING TAXES 2010 - THE GLOBAL PICTURE In collaboration with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Doing Business has produced a report which provides data on business tax rates, tax reform and the administrative burden of paying corporate taxes in 183 countries. Between June 2008 and May 2009, 45 economies made it easier to pay taxes as measured by Doing Business, almost 25% more than in the previous year. Read more...[4] 3.
